IDEAS |ELEVATED | DEVELOPMENT

5 ARTISTS - $1000 HONORARIUM FEE - 2 SHOWCASE EVENINGS - VIDEOGRAPHY SESSION



Two evenings of short works and presentations in an elevated performance mode in Studio1’s Black Box space + Curated Studio time with a photographer/videographer, filming a showreel for a developed work.

Artists will receive an honorarium fee of $1000 to support the process, artists and performative elements. Invitation by application - 5 artist spaces available.

TESTING SITE artists will receive curated studio time blocks with technical support and access to a videographer and photographer. Artists will be offered a three-hour block with half of the session being one-on-one with a videographer. Lighting and support from a production/ technical manager will be provided.

Suitable for:

  • Emerging or established artists with a short work (or excerpt of a work) for an elevated studio showing and general public audiences.

  • Artists who are willing and able to contribute to the event management of the event, including promotion and ticket sales

  • Artists looking to bolster their self-producing skills

TESTING SITE is a presentation and showcase of Brisbane Choreographers and Movement Makers, for two evenings of short dance and physical theatre works. It is a platform of new works from our community of choreographers. Witness raw physicality, ideas in motion, and the latest in our local and leading artists as they share with you hot new experimental art and contemporary dance.

Bugas by Buddy Malbasias

Rooted in the artist's trips to the Philippines, Bugas (Milled Rice) examines the cultural nuances that shape identity, perceiving rice as a vessel of nostalgic past and a means to question our perspectives and cultural influences.

SUB/stand by Grace Lewis 

SUB/stand exists within an imagined world, not too far from our own, where time is distorted, memory is fractured, and hyper-femininity emerges from dark, perilous landscapes. She is all we have endured and all that is yet to come.

Banshee3100 by VOiiiD Collective 

Banshee3100 is an exploration of the intersection between existentialism and AI art, delving into the essence of human existence and rapidly changing creative processes.


The Last Princess of Lebanon Nadia Milford 

Nadia will be presenting an excerpt of her work in development play, The Last Princess of Lebanon which delves into the remarkable story of her great grandmother, a Lebanese princess turned Australian migrant turned successful business woman.
