Sandpit is an experimental series of creative-play sessions designed for artists to explore, take risks, and sharpen their craft. This fast-paced, process-driven platform encourages participants to embrace pressure, make bold decisions, and discover new ways of working. Artists can choose their role: dancer/movement artist or choreographer/creator, and engage in a way that suits their practice.
Jag Popham, the inaugural Sandpit Curator, shares the vision behind the series:
"At the heart of Sandpit is collaboration. Every idea is welcomed and nurtured, growing collectively. Participants are invited to treat creation as a sacred act, prioritising the work over ego. Each Sandpit session revolves around a curated theme, offering a prompt to spark imagination. While the theme guides, artists are free to follow their curiosity wherever it leads."
