Friends of Studio1 is a small community of people who choose to support the long-term role Studio1 plays in Brisbane’s independent arts ecology.

Funds raised through Friends of Studio1 directly support:

• Paid studio time for artists

• Research, development and early-stage making

• Works-in-development sharings and performance trials

• The ongoing operation of Studio1 as an accessible, artist-led space

Your support helps artists spend time with ideas, return to work over multiple years, and develop practices that would not be possible without this kind of sustained backing.

Why philanthropy matters

Studio1 is supported by Creative Australia and Arts Queensland. While public funding supports our core work, philanthropic support allows us to extend it, increase access, pay artists properly, and sustain the work over time.

This support helps Studio1 remain a place artists can return to, this year and for years to come.

Being a Friend of Studio1

Friends of Studio1 are treated as part of the Studio1 community and are invited to engage with the work as it develops.

Friends receive:

• Invitations to studio sharings and works-in-development events

• Occasional behind-the-scenes access to artists and programs

• Updates on the work and artists their support enables

• Recognition on our website and at select events

Friends of Studio1 can contribute through a regular or one-off donation at a level that feels right for them.
