Studio1 and Restless Dance Theatre deliver a multi-year collaboration focused on inclusive practice and professional development for artists with and without disabilities.
Masterclass and Creative Workshop
Immerse yourself in a two-hour creative movement workshop with Restless Dance Theatre, designed for participants aged 15 and over. This workshop introduces the Restless Dance Theatre methodology blending physical devising techniques with contemporary dance.
The workshop will be led by Artistic Director Michelle Ryan, Associate Artist and Rehearsal Director Larissa McGowan and Company dancer Michael Hodyl.
Participants will engage in activities that encourage creative self-expression, build confidence, stimulate imagination, and improve body awareness, all while enjoying dancing in a safe and supportive environment. The session includes a movement-based warmup, explore spatial awareness, contrasting movement qualities, and creative improvisation tasks, all tailored to accommodate individual strengths and needs.

Restless Dance Theatre’s Teach the Teacher Workshop
Empower your teaching practice with Restless Dance Theatre’s dynamic Teach the Teacher workshop, a professional development opportunity designed for teachers, educators, dance/movement artists, and other professionals. Discover how to create comfortable, inclusive learning environments, communicate effectively using inclusive language, and expand understanding through the creative use of props.
Participants will gain hands-on experience with movement and choreography ideas that inspire creativity, while exploring practical tasks to engage diverse groups. The workshop includes a blend of discussion, walking, and dancing, culminating in an interactive Creative Restless Session. Plus, dedicated time for Q&A ensures your unique questions are addressed, making this a t learning experience for every participant.
