Studio1 - Meanjin/Brisbane X Catapult Dance Choreographic Hub - Mulubinba/Newcastle

Paid opportunities for 2 x artists to develop new work in new environments  + Build networks and new artistic partnerships in creative hubs spanning NSW Central Coast and South East Queensland.

Connecting regional and Metropolitan – skills exchange, practice sharing + new audience development & networks.

In a post COVID context, access to art-making, partnerships and new connections is often bound by place. An artist or collective selected by Studio1 (Meanjin/Brisbane) and Catapult Dance (Mulubinba/Newcastle) will have the opportunity to travel along the East Coast to each Creative Hub exploring place, process and creation.

Artist receives:

• 1 x week of space in each venue 

• $3000 per week + flights + accommodation + per diems

Suitable for:

• Emerging or established artists looking to deep dive into an existing project or body of work + show a need or benefit for connection across the East Coast

• Research or artform development around a new project 

• Artists who are available to commit to the dates available 

• Artists or Collectives who are operationally un-funded

• Artist based locally to the 2 Creative Hubs

• Dance/physical theatre/circus/movement artists, or collectives. Emphasis on embodied approach to art-making

Catapult Dance Choreographic Hub will conduct their own call-out process for their nominated artist.
