East Coast Exchange w/ Legs On The Wall

The East Coast Exchange is designed to build meaningful relationships between artists and organisations across states. This exchange prioritises process, training, experimentation and knowledge exchange.

One Studio1 artist will be embedded within Legs On The Wall’s environment, observing, training, contributing and developing their own research in dialogue with the company.

A public sharing will take place at the conclusion of each residency period.


This exchange supports

  • 1 artist from Studio1

  • 1 artist from Legs On The Wall

  • 2 weeks in residence for each artist (one week at each venue)

What is Offered

  • $1,500 artist fee per week (2 weeks total)

  • Flights, Per diems, Accommodation

  • Studio access and integration into company processes

This is a professional development residency focused on movement-based theatre, physical training, creative exchange and shared practice.

Who’s it for

Artists should demonstrate a committed movement practice, professional contemporary performance experience, readiness for physically rigorous and potentially aerial processes, and curiosity about large-scale physical theatre methodologies.

This opportunity is suited to artists seeking to deepen their physical training, expand national networks and engage in sustained artistic dialogue across contexts.
