One Studio1 nominated artist will be selected via an Expression of Interest to travel to Melbourne for a 3 day short space residency and weekend showing as part of Out of Bounds, a curated choreographic platform for sharing works-in-progress and engaging in facilitated peer feedback.
Artists will present up to 10 minutes of a choreographic investigation as part of Out of Bounds, curated by Lucy Guerin, Dr Phillip Adams, and Josh Wright, followed by a structured discussion with peers and experienced practitioners.
Out of Bounds seeks to represent dance artists from across all forms, practices, cultures, histories, lineages, styles, disciplines, aesthetics and experimentations. The program’s aim is to show new work in a raw state—providing a generous, open space for artists to take risks and try out their ideas. Works will not be programmed if they are complete or have previously received a public outcome.
Studio1 will cover flights, accommodation and per diems for the successful applicant during their time in Melbourne.
